Dr. Stefan Sepeur studied chemistry from 1989 to 1994 at the Saarland University and received his doctorate there in 2001 on the subject of "Development of coating materials based on sol-gel processes". He oversaw interdisciplinary development activities in the fields of chemical nanotechnology and, as department head, has been in charge of adaptation and process development in the field of coating technology at the Institute for New Materials in Saarbrücken since 1997. In August 1999 he founded NANO-X GmbH together with Reimund Krechan. Under his leadership, the internationally active company has developed into a hotbed of innovation for silicon-based coating materials and catalysts over the past 20 years. With more than 50 patents and many scientific publications, NANO-X has further developed the field of nanotechnology at the Saarland location. In addition to his work as managing director, Dr. Sepeur is active in several committees and organizations on the subject of nanotechnology.
