Ever since he was a small child, Craig always had a love of science fiction and fantasy. From comic books, to Star Trek to Godzilla, just to name a few. And like many sci-fi writers, Craig has always used his fantasy worlds to explore contemporary issues. From politics, to religion, to issues of racism, discrimination and conformity vs individuality. Craig likes to use his writing to challenge societal standards and create worlds populated with interesting characters, with stories that not only entertain but also make the reader think.
Having studied film and television at Seneca College, Craig has always taken the words of his script writing teacher, Michael Monty, to heart: “What makes a great story is interesting characters. Without these, no amount of special effects, action, sex, violence or big name stars can save a badly written story”.
When he’s not writing fiction, Craig loves reading. Not just sci-fi and fantasy, but history and spirituality. He also enjoys spending time out in nature and meditation, two things which he feels brings you closer to God than organized religion does. For as Conversations with God says, “Religion cannot stand Spirituality. It cannot abide it. For Spirituality may bring you to a different conclusion than a particular religion—and this no known religion can tolerate. Religion encourages you to explore the thoughts of others and accept them as your own. Spirituality invites you to toss away the thoughts of others and come up with your own.”
