Hello dear readers, being an author is a new experience for me as this is my first book. How did the idea of a book even happen? I cannot take full credit for it as I believe it was down to my rocking horse. There I was, recovering from knee surgery through the 2020 summer lock down with plenty of time on my hands. As I gazed at the stunningly beautiful face of my newly aquired boy, he literally spoke to me. I had been wondering what sort of a life he may have had during his historical past and what stories he had to tell, If only he could talk. Imagine my surprise when many tales rushed into my head and his life-time of adventures came to me in pictures and words. I felt an overwhelming desire to record it all and so the book was born. It sounds fantastical but it was a priviledge to have had a glimpse into the past life of a rocking horse, which basically is just a wooden toy. I feel rocking horses are quite magical. They have lived for many years, often in several homes, they've been loved by many children and adults alike. I'm sure many adored toys have 'spoken' to their children. I'm a lucky adult who happened to be in the right place at the right time to hear my boy's tale. And he's told me more, so there is a sequel coming up!
