Maria Ferrante

MxMaria (Maria Ferrante) is a non-binary artist from Sicily, born in 1983, who graduated and specialized in Foreign Languages, Humanities, and Communication Studies to make their dream come true to become a translator, a mediator. Nevertheless, since their childhood, they also explored the entertainment field. From 2008 to 2018, they write and translate on request under several pseudonyms, thanks to their natural disposition and flexibility with genres like Erotica, Fantasy, Alternative Lifestyles, Educational, LGBT+, etc.

In 2007, Ferrante approached the Seventh Art, performing as a Spanish actor, however, in 2015, they began their new career, studying as Voice Actor, and in 2016 they enrol in Shakespeare Theatre Academy in Palermo, graduating in 2019 as actor-performer. In the meantime, they founded a theatrical company as a second director and script-writer (2017), which will later in time change its name to Progetto Inediti (2019): they are currently their main director, author, song- and script-writer, and performer. Since 2018, Ferrante officially becomes a script-writer for SIAE DOR and broadens their repertoire.

Ferrante is also known as an active member of LGBT+ community, and that can be vividly perceived in their work, especially since they became a speaker for Studio Blue Radio (2020) and wrote a few critical reviews for Meglio di Niente (2021), broadening their perspective on art, too. This new turn was due to casually crossing their path with Frank Julian, a composer, who proposed collaboration, and Ferrante performed as a singer and a voiceover actor in ReBorn, R174, T1Z14N4 (Seotan), and wrote for him as well.

In 2021, Ferrante independently published books in Italian and English, starting a collaboration with a long-time friend and colleague Xenia Tsarkova, a professional Russian translator and proofreader, and Daeron Sjach, a native American English speaker who has provided a priceless support and insight.
