I was born on New Year’s Day, 1940, just before WWII. Some folks say I started the war but that can't be true. So far I have published two short works that earned very little over a five-year period--as you can see I am not the most popular author on Amazon. I fact I am in competition for the least or most obscure writer. (I got to be sure I don't violate policy in what I say in the second attempted bio).
“This is supposed to be a bio--not a complaint,” said the censor in my head. Okay, during and after the war, I transition from diapers, to tricycles, to roller skates, to bikes, to cars... and the whole nine yards. I did horrible is school, won no awards, and lived a life full of boredom. I figure that qualifies me to write fiction, no? For sure, poetry.
That’s my bio—short and sour. In case you are wanting more, here is what I wrote on the back of my book of short stories:
S. Sapo is an obscure figure in the genre of short story writing. He prefers to remain in
the shadows; he can strike better from this position. Unfortunately, Sapo would not know
the truth if it was sitting at the dinner table with him. This is the sadist [pun intended] fact
of his life.
Do not feel sorry for him, however, because he does have his cult of fans—as they might
loosely be termed. This collection of his short stories was written over an extended
period of time and the public is just now getting to know the master liar. Will they
greet him with approval or disgust?—time with tell.
It appears the answer to the last question is not approval, not disgust, but indifference.
