William J. Sutherland

William Sutherland holds the Miriam Rothschild Chair in Conservation Biology at the University of Cambridge and is a Professorial Fellow in St Catharine’s College. Instead of royalties for The Conservation Handbook he asked for a free copy for each one sold. Over three thousand copies were then given to individuals or organisations globally who might otherwise find it difficult to obtain a copy. He was made a CBE in 2021 for Services to evidence-based conservation.
