Kuchen Uwe

I was born on December 10th, 1955 in Moers on the left bank of the Lower Rhine and in August 1970 I began my apprenticeship as a power electrician in the mining industry. From the age of twenty I visited the island of Crete and from 1978 I traveled to India, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Thailand and Australia again and again.

Crete eventually became my second home, as I passed by it every time on my way to Asia for many years. Today everyone knows me by the name of Kuchenuwe, since I have been selling our homemade cakes on Komos Beach on South Crete near Matala since 1998 together with my wife Birgit.

My autobiography is only a short description of my own life story or individual sections from it from the retrospective means a review of events that have already happened. So a biography or memoirs. In contrast to the memoirs, in which mostly external events are in the foreground, the autobiography is aimed at describing the mental and emotional development lines. My sometimes insane life story from 1973 up to and including 1987 takes you on a fascinating hippie road trip across Europe, Morocco, Greece, Turkey, Iran, Afghanistan, Pakistan, India, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Thailand and Bali all the way to Australia. My fateful road trip on the Hippie Trail towards India is not only for travel fans!
