William Furman, known as Bill by friends, was born in 1935, on the state line between Nebraska and South Dakota. He graduated from Butler University and had duel careers in USAF/Indiana Air National Guard for 22 years and civilian life, retiring from Eli Lilly. Bill taught Bible studies for over 35 years and was a member of the Board of Trustees of Tavriski Christian Institute in Kherson, Ukraine. He was active in local civic and governmental affairs. He is a past club president anf Lt. governor of Optimist International. On the government side, Bill served as president of the township advisory board. Bill is a Life member of the American Legion and National Guard Association.
