Rae Harding

Rae has turned her background in theatre into novel writing. Her favorite genres to write are fantasy, horror, and non-space science fiction. She loves dark and twisty worlds and characters. In 2023, her short story, “Antecedent”, was published in Close Encounters of the Third Street Kind. In 2021, her horror stories, “Null and Void” and “Analog”, were published in Malfunction Junction, which won the 2023 Memphis Public Library’s Richard Wright Literary Award for Best Adult Fiction. Her poem, “Alternate”, was published in Teen Angst Mix Tape Vol. 1 in 2020. She completed a mentorship with Jodi Zdrok in 2022 through the Rogue Mentor program with her horror thriller manuscript, Revenant. She received Honorable Mention in the Malice in Memphis Hit Me With Your Best Shot Contest in 2018. Rae loves video games (sucker for Final Fantasy), blues music, and Mediterranean food. Some of her favorite authors include Jeff VanderMeer, Andy Weir, Sabaa Tahir, Gabino Iglesias, Ana Ahlborn, and Maggie Stiefvater. She writes every spare moment she can steal, which is mostly at night when the kids are asleep. She is always sleep deprived.
