Jim Lutz has been involved in swimming for over 50 years. He has taught and coached swimmers from novice “bubble blowers” to those competing on the international stage. He has contributed back to swimming through motivational and inspirational speeches, articles, and seminars. He is a Level 5 (out of 5) certified coach for USA Swimming and NCAA I through the American Swimming Coaches Association (ASCA). He coached for 37 years, including 15 years collegiately, 11 of them as a head college coach. His swimmers have won over 130 age group individual state titles, numerous individual high school state champions, NCAA All-Americans, Olympic Trials qualifiers, and Academic All-Americans. He has been married to Diane for over 37 years and has two sons, Kyle and Kory. He worked in the financial industry as a registered representative and as a sales development manager for a Fortune 100 Company. He has authored 12 published books, with three additional books scheduled for publication in 2026 and a children’s book series scheduled for summer 2026. Currently, he lives in Mesa, Arizona, works for an Insurance Company, is a certified life coach with a Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP) designation from ABNLP, and is co-host of “Salt Talks” with Dr. Randy Marshall.
