Alan Batson

Alan Batson started his professional life straight out of Solihull College, plunging into the advertising industry to become an Art Director. However, after tugging the tail of that paper tiger, he quickly found a mouse with a much better tale to tell, transitioning to a career training and illustrating with the Walt Disney Company. Alan has since worked on hundreds of children’s books for a diverse client base (including Disney, Universal, DreamWorks, Illumination and Minecraft). This includes over 25 titles for Random House’s gold-standard Golden Books, such as the Disney "I Am" series and Ghostbusters. Whether bringing iconic characters to life or creating brand-new worlds, his mission is always to spark joy and imagination on every page. Once serving as the Production Designer on the multi-award-winning Friends and Heroes TV series, he still finds spare time for his wife Catherine, their three children Joseph, Elena, and Daniel, and taking Benji for walkies.
