Robert E. Boertien

Robert Boertien grew up on a small farm in northern Washington, just two miles below the Canadian border. The horses he owned as a youth may not have been of the highest quality, but he learned much from them, and some of their peculiarities and behavioral traits will be reflected in the equines appearing in the pages of his western novels. Robert spent over 30 years working in law enforcement, and he holds degrees from Washington State University and from the University of Portland. He is retired and lives with his wife, Kristine, in the foothills of the Cascades where he enjoys volunteer work, hiking, and writing.
