Dmitry I. Ignatov

Dr. Dmitry Ignatov works as an Associate Professor for the National Research University Higher School of Economics or HSE University (Moscow, Russia) at the department of Artificial Intelligence and Data Analysis and also as the head of the Laboratory for Models and Methods for Computational Pragmatics.

He graduated in 2004 as a “Specialist in Physics and Mathematics” with distinction at the “Kolomna Teachers’ Training Institute” (Kolomna, Russia) and in 2008 as a “Master of Applied Mathematics and Information Sciences” at the “State University Higher School of Economics” (Russia, Moscow). In 2010 he obtained his degree of “Candidate of sciences in Mathematical Modeling, Numerical Methods, and Software Systems” (PhD equivalent) at the HSE University. Prior to the defense he did his PhD (Candidate of science in Russian) research in All-Russian Institute for Scientific and Technical Information of Russian Academy of sciences specializing in Theoretical Computer Science.

He is an author of more than 50 papers published in peer reviewed conferences, workshops, and journals including such journals as Machine Leaning, Applied Soft Computing, Discrete Applied Mathematics, Expert Systems with Applications and General Systems etc.

His main interests include Formal Concept Analysis, Recommender Systems, Data Mining and Machine Learning, especially biclustering and multimodal clustering. He was a co-organizer or a program co-chair of several international conferences and workshops: SocInfo 2018, CLA 2018, AIST 2012-2021, ECIR 2013, ICFCA 2012, ICCS 2009 and 2013, RSFDGrC 2011, PReMI 2011, CDUD 2011-2016, EEML 2012-2019, SCAKD 2011-2016 etc.

His teaching experience as lecturer (since 2005) includes machine learning and data mining courses both for universities such HSE University, Lomonosov Moscow State University, Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology, Russian State University for the Humanities and educational startups and companies such as Sberbank (the largest Russian bank), Megafon and Beeline (top-3 Russian mobile phone operators), NewProlab, BigDataTeam.org etc. He also completed several industry related research projects for such companies as Schlumberger (Gas & Oil sector), Imhonet (movies and books recommender engine), Witology (crowdsourcing platform), Yandex (know as Russian web-search engine and AI company), and OpenStat (web analytics).

In 2019, Dmitry Ignatov was awarded as an academic advisor by the Ilya Segalovich Award provided by Yandex company.
