Lisa Harris

Lisa Harris grew up in central Pennsylvania’s Allegheny Mountains, a part of Northern Appalachia. Her fiction, categorized as Northern Appalachian literature, explores and exposes the magic and the mundane in three novels: GEECHEE GIRLS, ALLEHENY DREAM, and THE RAVEN’S TALE—(The Quest Trilogy, Ravenna Press).Her poetry collections: Traveling through Glass (with art by Patricia Brown), Broken Open, and Carry Light, Carry Fire are inspired by slices of daily life (Cayuga Lake Books and Wasteland Press).Her fiction has received two Bright Hill Press Awards, The Author Zone Awards, and been published in many journals. She lives and writes in the Finger Lakes Region of New York. She is an MFA from Avery Graduate School of the Arts at Bard College.
