Hope Smith

Author and entrepreneur Hope Dworaczyk Smith is undaunted when she sets a goal. Hope began a high fashion modeling career at the age of 16; she started her first business, a spa, as an esthetician in her 20’s; she has worked in television; and, launched MUTHA™ a successful luxury skincare brand, in 2019. Now Hope wants to share some of the mother wisdom she tracked down during her pregnancies with readers everywhere.

Hope founded MUTHA™ after she created natural skincare products for herself when she was pregnant and searching for a high quality, all natural solution to moisturize and prevent stretch marks. Her rich and wholesome body butter became an underground sensation, and soon Hope was fielding calls from friends of friends around the world who wanted to try her product for themselves.

Before, during, and after her first pregnancy, Hope looked for positive solutions to a number of questions — about motherhood and how to support her own body during pregnancy as her children grew. That search led not only to her first products, but also to her first book, “Your Body Is Magic.”

In “Your Body Is Magic,” Hope shares insights from certified midwife Mari Mikel Potter, and DONA certified doula, Khristina Helmich, as well as research from the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. But the book doesn’t read like a research text. It contains lived experiences, stories, and great advice for every stage of pregnancy, from mental preparation to recipes and health and fitness routines. It contains everything moms-to-be would want to know about the birthing process and their changing bodies all beautifully illustrated by artist Kimothy Joy.

These days Hope is a world traveler, but her roots are in a small oceanside town in Texas. At 16, she completed an accelerated high school program and took a chance on a career in modeling that transformed her life. But even as Hope strutted international runways, she was always thinking about “what’s next.” Her fascination with finding great skincare products and deciphering ingredient lists led her to become a certified esthetician as she continued modeling.

Eventually, Hope opened a spa in Texas, which was her first foray into the health and wellness industry. After modeling for high-end couturiers like Balenciaga, Hope decided to branch out and take up offers in media, including roles as a fashion show host and reality show contestant, all the while strengthening her lifelong advocacy for women.

Now, Hope is the CEO of MUTHA™, the company she founded, and is a philanthropist who advocates for vulnerable populations including children and mothers. She has helped nonprofits such as Together We Rise, The Conscious Kid, and the International Medical Corps raise funds and awareness for their incredible missions. These organizations provide stability, educational resources, anti-bias training, healthcare, and support for children, young adults, and parents.
