D Griffith White

Hi, I'm D. Griffith White, but you can call me David. I live in St. Petersburg, FL with my wife Rosie, my seven kids, a son-in-law, and two grandsons. I spent 13 years as a full-time youth pastor and more recently pastored a church that reached out to the homeless community in downtown St. Petersburg, FL. I love to speak and share about hope through the avenue of storytelling.

I'm a total foodie which means I love to try new foods (and cook them) but I always go back to my staples of bacon and fried chicken. Hence, you'll notice that food plays a role in my storytelling. I also LOVE music, especially old-school jazz, but I listen to just about anything as long as it has a good beat and clean lyrics.

Speaking of storytelling, I don't consider myself a writer so much as a storyteller. The book, 'Torch,' started as a short story I was going to write and give to my kids for Christmas. I started over Thanksgiving break in 2018 and 6 months later I had written a full-blown novel (I missed the Christmas deadline)! 'Torch' explores many of the lessons we've tried to teach our children over the years. I hope you enjoy! Let me know what you think!
