At 38, Lisa is a kiwi (New Zealand) mum of one 16-year-old boy. Inspired by her son, Dakota, in 2018 she left her corporate job to run Social Currency - an accounting firm donating 10% of revenue to supporting at-risk youth - proving that sustainable social change is possible.
Breaking Good is a story of hope despite adversity and choosing to change – an example of how to break the cycle. This is Lisa's journey through domestic abuse, overcoming trauma and learning to love herself. She shares why she stayed and how we can support positive change in our communities.
It is her hope that her story can be a message to those who have lived or still are living with domestic abuse to never give up. She hopes that you can see that change is possible, that you feel strong enough to share your truth, and that it would set you free just like it has done for her life.
Lisa's first published book, Breaking Good, was over two years in the making and was published in February 2022.
In mid-2022 Lisa encountered God in a radical way and has been transformed by the experience and the changes in her life ever since. While Breaking Good was written prior to this happening, there is a stark contrast between this book and the recently published books in 2025 where the God of Heaven's Armies made Himself known in a wild way.
Lisa's more recent books in the 'Latter Rain' series are books related to her spiritual awakening and walk with God.
