I am a senior lecturer in Strategic Management at Cardiff Metropolitan University in the UK and an associate of PSA Training and Development, where I worked as a senior consultant for six years before taking up my current post. Prior to that I was a British Army officer, specialising in leadership and management, strategic studies and information operations.
I have played a lead role in supporting individual and organisational learning in a wide variety of settings, both in the UK and abroad, and have an extensive background in operational and strategic planning in large multinational contexts. I have worked as a facilitator, coach and mentor in the public, private and third sector, and also taught psychology and sociology in Further Education.
My doctoral thesis examined change leadership in the contested cultural environment of Northern Ireland, while my current research focuses on leadership, creativity and social networks in organisational and community settings. I live with my wife in South Wales and have two daughters.
