Peter Francis Morneault began his professional writing career in 2008 and frequently struggles with self confidence before he feels comfortable to hit "publish now." He admits that he is not a prolific writer, and his goal in writing is always to impact the life of just one reader - and hopefully that is you.
His first self-published book, "I'm In" chronicles his personal transformation and experience as a Volunteer Coordinator for an episode of Extreme Makeover: Home Edition.
He further honed his craft and strengthened his voice while creating inspirational content on the various websites he created. Peter's websites offered a platform where he encouraged his readers to find wisdom and beauty in unusual places.
Peter collaborated with Robert W. Smith, his father-in-law, to produce and self-publish a memoir of Smith's Vietnam War experience. The book, "Open Wounds" seamlessly weaves letters-to-home, photographs, and stories into a cohesive look into the effects war can have on a sailor/soldier and their family. While the setting is during the Vietnam War, the message of Open Wounds resonates with any military family that faced the hardship of a long-term deployment.
"Why Not Me?: is the most personal project for the author. It is his long overdue cathartic memoir in response to surviving a heart attack and stroke. In Peter's own words, he looks "...to close my own open wounds that I've held onto for too long."
Peter's fourth offering, "Everyone is Welcome...At the Table in the Forest" challenged his creative writing process. Rather than writing a story and supplementing it with a handful of photographs, Peter assembled a loosely defined framework of photographs and wrote the text around the pictures.
