David G Stokes is a British novelist, artist and musician living in the Peak District. His fiction explores the darker corners of history, often blending crime, mystery and psychological suspense with elements of the gothic and uncanny.
His novels include 'Poison for Cats', 'When All the Birds leap' and 'Flower of the Chimera', an Edwardian crime thriller set amid the fogbound streets of London.
Drawing on a lifelong interest in history, psychology, folklore and the stranger aspects of human nature, David's work is particularly concerned with people under pressure: obsession, grief, identity, violence, and the secrets we construct around ourselves.
He is currently working on new fiction from his home in Derbyshire.
