Oliver Dowson

Oliver Dowson now writes spy fiction. Not conventional spying for government agencies, but something arguably more relevant to the modern world, industrial espionage. His first thriller “The Repurposed Spy” has attained wide acclaim and won Gold Awards from both Literary Titan and BookFest and the Bronze Award for Fiction from the lauded Wishing Shelf Awards. The second, "Spies on Safari", takes an augmented team of characters to the African bush. It's already won awards from Literary Titan, Feathered Quill and Authors Reading.

The third instalment in The Repurposed Spies series, 'Spies on the Silk Road', is published in October 2024.

Oliver’s first book was a travelogue “There’s no Business Like International Business”, recounting some of his more unlikely and entertaining experiences in his earlier business life.

Other than writing, his Number One passion is travel, and Oliver counts himself lucky to have travelled extensively in nearly 150 countries, both for pleasure and business. He’s also an enthusiastic amateur cook and mentors startups in international business. All of these interests are reflected in some way in every chapter of his books!

Born in Lowestoft, the most easterly town in England, Oliver moved to London when he went to university, and has lived there ever since. Married with one son, and, so far, two granddaughters, he divides his time between London and Oviedo Spain - when not travelling further afield!
