Celia Ienco

Born in Zambia as a child of British parents, I grew up in a picturesque village in Herefordshire, England. I was lucky enough to be educated at Hereford Cathedral School before going on to Oxford where I studied Modern Languages at Lady Margaret Hall.

During my year abroad I fell in love with my future husband who ensured that I settle in Germany after having graduated and added on a year's teacher's training in Oxford.

We were blessed to have 3 children who loved me to read to them or tell them stories which I would make up as I went along. Professionally I began to teach English, mostly to adults, here in Germany but have always loved reading English literature whenever I have a free moment.

When the children were older, we acquired a wonderful corgi dog: Emma, and she became the muse for my children's books which I began to publish during the first Covid lockdown in 2020.

The books about Emma's adventures are lighthearted, touching and beautifully illustrated by Marian Gorin whom I was very lucky to find on Facebook. I attempted to add to my books all the elements which my children most enjoyed while being read to all those years ago.

I am now blessed to be a grandma and am thrilled that my granddaughter also enjoys my books about Emma the Corgi who she also loves in real life.
