Seth Kathigen

Seth A Kathigen was born in Oregon in October 1982. Raised in the small town of Roseburg, he was the youngest of two brothers. Seth's parents feared that his diminutive size would make him a target for bullies and other trouble, and enrolled him in a local Martial arts school when he was eight years old, hoping he would learn the skills necessary to defend himself. By sixteen Seth had earned his first-degree black belt and started teaching classes to younger students. By the time Seth had turned twenty-one, he had achieved his third-degree black belt and began to set his sights on higher goals.

At 24 years old Seth chose to enter into Military service and joined the US Air Force as a military policeman and was stationed at Edwards Air Force Base in southern California for the entirety of his career. This is where Seth began training in various martial arts including Japanese swordsmanship and had eventually earned his second-degree black belt in this art as well. During his time in the military, Seth had deployed to the middle east during Operation Enduring Freedom. However, due to medical complications related to his service, Seth had to be Medically Retired as a Staff Sergeant in 2014 after serving seven years.

Seth began his journey as a writer while serving in the USAF and published his first book inspired by a life-long love and fascination for medieval Japan and its Martial culture. After his return to civilian life, Seth had to set down the pen for several years to take care of his wife and their three children. With the passing of time and his children now becoming more independent, leaving home for college or entering into their own military service, Seth is now able to refocus on his love for telling thrilling tales of action and adventure drawing upon his martial training and military experience to create authentic feeling scenes of fiction to thrill readers everywhere.
