I have always been involved in the arena of supporting people and having conversations about their futures. Over many years and many thousands of conversations my fascination for the human capacity for change and resilience has grown stronger.
My exploration of the human psyche has involved me gaining a degree in psychology and a master's degree in coaching. For my master's degree I chose to research psychological resilience and explored what people understood resilience to be, how their resilience presented itself and what factors contributed to their own resilience.
At the same time, I took on the challenge of writing a resilience blog post every day for a year called 366 Days of Resilience. The project not only tested my own resilience but also afforded me the opportunity to reflect on resilience from a number of different perspectives.
My immersion into the subject of resilience merely whetted my appetite for further exploration of the subject and resilience has been a consistent element of my coaching and training engagements ever since. I am amazed and inspired on a regular basis by the resilience I see in the people that I engage with to overcome challenge and achieve incredible things.
In my work as a transformational executive coach, trainer, speaker, mediator and coach supervisor, I have continued to be fascinated by the subject of resilience and what it means to people. I spend much of my time helping to support and develop the resilience of the individuals, teams and organisations that I have the privilege to work alongside.
