Robert Poole is an Associate Professor of Applied Linguistics and TESOL at the University of Alabama. He has written multiple books exploring the ways we talk about the more-than-human world and why it matters. In his research, he analyzes corpora--large collections of authentic language use--to investigate how language mediates how we perceive, understand, and relate to the world around us.
