Ellen Clark Clemot

Ellen Clemot is both a U.S. lawyer and a pastor, ordained in the Presbyterian Church (USA). Her book "Discerning Welcome" offers practical approaches to legal and ethical ways of welcoming refugees already living in our communities. As the Ukraine refugee crisis worsens, and the Afghan refugees are still being absorbed into neighborhoods in the U.S. and abroad, now is the time to explore new ways to help the stranger in need. Ellen and her husband lived in Europe with their children for nearly a decade before settling back in the U.S. Her experience as a foreign resident abroad informs her work and motivates her ministry of welcome today.
