Alessandro Olsaretti

Alessandro Olsaretti is an independent researcher. He completed a PhD in sociology at McGill University with a thesis on Antonio Gramsci and a specialization in the sociology of development and political sociology. His articles have appeared in Critical Sociology, Historical Materialism, and the Journal of Classical Sociology. He has also worked on history, particularly the history of the early modern Mediterranean, and cultural history with a focus on orientalism. His articles on these topics have appeared in Social History and The International History Review.
