Paul Makowski

Paul Makowski is an independent author and New England native. He began writing children's books in 2021 when his 4 year old daughter began having some trouble coping with some scary noises at bedtime. Paul has always enjoyed finding creative ways to solve problems, so he decided to make a fun project by authoring a book about his daughter overcoming her fear. He leaned on his daughters, Lila and Camila, for inspiration and included them in the creative process, and in the story! Alas, "Brave Lila and the Night-time Noises" was born. And wouldn't you know it, the Night-time noises aren't so scary anymore. Paul also published a second children's book about a brave mouse named Mila who goes on an adventure in search of a cheesy treasure! His third book is in development.

Paul's full-time job is serving as Head of People Operations for an organization that helps people overcome Substance Use Disorder. Paul also serves as Board Member and Secretary for Rhode Island Communities for Addiction Recovery Efforts, a RI-based non-profit which advocates for Rhode Islanders impacted by substance use.

Paul is a first generation American whose parents immigrated from Poland to find a better life. He holds an MBA and resides in Massachusetts.
