Glenn L. Marx

For most of his adult life, Glenn L. Marx was the kind of person who stays.

He joined a non-denominational church in his twenties and gave it everything. For years: Visitation. Youth Group Leader. Missions. Building committees. Taught Bible Classes. Headed Small Groups. Ultimately on the Board of Elders. He was not someone who sat in the pews and wondered from a distance. He worked from the inside, across multiple congregations, for decades, because he believed the church mattered and wanted to help fulfill its purpose.

It was from that position of deep faithfulness, not from the outside, that the questions eventually came. Around 2006, after continuous study and service, Glenn began encountering questions that his church background and extensive Bible study could not fully answer. He kept looking.

By 2015 he had already written four complete books on the biblical narrative. That year he encountered the subject of the Watcher angels and the Nephilim for the first time. Book writing stopped. He would not ask readers to trust work built on an incomplete foundation. Then came years of going deeper: reading the full biblical narrative multiple times in different translations, working through the Book of Enoch, Jasher, Jubilees, and the deuterocanonical texts, and cross-referencing Scripture with the secular historical accounts of Josephus, Pliny, and Herodotus.

Roots of the Kingdom is what emerged from that process.

Glenn is a native of Ohio. Outside of writing, his life has included running his own business, serving as an elected Township Trustee, and two decades overseeing territories for corporations. He and his wife Linda have been married for more than forty years.

He writes about the origin of good and evil not because he finds darkness compelling, but because he believes that when the full story is told, God's love becomes easier to see and harder to doubt.
