“Meet The Author”
Dr. Lisette Caesar is a NYC educator with over 27 years of experience. She has worked as an elementary teacher, literacy staff developer and now is the Founding Principal of Mosaic Preparatory Academy, a small elementary school in East Harlem, New York.
Dr. Caesar uses the pen name, Dr. Liz and has authored two books to date. Both books are based on real life events.
Dr. Liz began writing in 2019 as a way to journal during her battle with colon cancer. The journal transitioned to two books. The first book, Little Lizzy Learns to read chronicles the author’s life as a struggling reader at the age of six years old. This book inspires students to set a goal, create a plan and to work hard to reach the finish line.
In 2021, the author learned cancer had returned. Dr. Liz began to write about her cancer journey in the soon to be published book, Little Lizzy and the Big Blue Parade. This book shows what love and strength can do in challenging times. Dr. Liz plans to donate a copy of this book to one children’s hospital in all 50 states to uplift children impacted by cancer.
