After studying Medicine in Holland I embarked on a career in Science in the United Kingdom. After receiving my PhD from the University of London I had a varied career studying stroke, Alzheimer's disease, and the role of mitochondria in cancer. Writing has always been my great hobby. My parents told me that as a seven year old I wrote a story about Ivanhoe, based on the series then broadcast in Holland. For me, writing is like massaging the soul. It alleviates all kinds of problems and is now necessary in my life. I would say that apart from my wife it is what keeps me going.
I like writing children's books and Longhowls is the first of a series I plan to write about Charlie and Sally. Charlie is loosely based on me, Sally is imaginary. The next book which will come out in this series is called Safari. I love Africa, its people, its scenery and it was an absolute pleasure writing it.
I am working on a spy book, featuring Xenia Pizzicato, who plays with the heartstrings of men, and will tell you more once I finish.
