I'm the parent of two great kids age nine and six. My son, Carnegie is an avid drawer and my daughter, Charley is a very imaginative storyteller. We created coloring books and storybooks as a family activity to spend quality time together.
When I color alone, my solitude time allows me to destress from my parenting and work obligations. I remembered the fond times when my mother read the original "Winnie-the-Pooh" book to me; however, coloring E. H. Shepard's sketches was limited because he used dark shades and criss-cross hatching lines. Carnegie and I simplified his borders with thin and clean lines to facilitate coloring. With your coloring creativity, watch your illustrations come to life with each shade and layer.
Charley and I wrote "Winnie-the-Pooh Cheese Fancier" together. She gave me her ideas and I organized the storylines. We started a "series" because her other imaginative ideas are in the writing stages. We're excited about the future sequels.
