Martin E. Roberts has written and illustrated children's picture books inspired by the stories he tells to his own children, the children he teaches, and the children of an SEN school where he is an award-winning governor.
His debut book, "Grandma Saved a Bumble Bee," is a true story written about a unique experience his family encountered one summer's day in 2020. It wasn't until he turned 40 in 2022 that he decided to publish it. After selling over 200 books in the first month, it continues to be shared in schools and libraries across the UK.
While sitting down and asking his children what they wanted from Grandad as a Christmas present, it naturally became a little song. Thus, another book was born - "12 Days of Christmas, Grandad Gave To Me" - a modern twist on the classic song. Another immediate success, Martin has continued his writing and illustrating journey and plans to publish more books and matching gifts, such as "Grandma's Notepad."
Martin lives in Cheshire with his wife, three children, and two axolotls. You can learn more about him on his website or on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and TikTok.
