Barbra Akombo

Barbra A. Akombo is currently pursuing a Master of Arts Education in Teaching and Learning at the University of Sheffield in the United Kingdom. She also holds an International Postgraduate Certificate in Education (IPGCE) from the University of Sheffield and a Bachelor of Music (B.Mus) degree from Kenyatta University in Kenya. She has also studied and completed advanced international correspondence courses with the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM) where she has achieved graded music competencies and certificates in piano, singing, and music theory. Ms. Akombo has a wide experience in musical composition, music teaching and music performance. Barbra has a long experience as music teacher with several prestigious international schools in Kenya and Japan. Ms. Akombo is a member of the Classical Music Festival, a United States-based organization with concert series housed in Vienna, Austria. Ms. Akombo has also performed with The Nairobi Music Society in Kenya. She has also presented at international conferences such as the Australian & New Zealand Association for Research in Music Education (ANZARME) and the Performing Arts Conference in Kenya
