David M. Lewis

Pastor David M. Lewis was the organizing pastor at New Hanover Methodist Church. Over his 30 years as senior pastor, the church became one of the largest United Methodist churches in the northeastern U.S. Prior to that, he served as a pastor in Wheaton, Maryland, and in Mt. Carmel and Norristown, Pennsylvania.

Dave grew up in Philadelphia, was an Eagle Scout, served in the U.S. Marine Corps, and graduated from Temple University where he was on the rowing team. He attended Wesley Theological Seminary. Dave is currently the Board Chairman of Yokefellowship Prison Ministry in Pennsylvania.

He is married to Nancy (Schuckert) Lewis. He has three grown children and their spouses, six grandchildren and two "bonus" daughters with Nancy. He enjoys ministering at a local prison, supporting the work of Urban Promise International, hunting, fishing, biking, hiking, kayaking and puttering around the house.
