Mark Gredler

Mark Gredler’s super powers are his curiosity and his love of adventure. In 1984 he jumped on the opportunity to move to Madrid, Spain to help improve the Spanish Air Traffic Control System with an FAA Civil Aviation Assistance Group.

In the 1980’s Mark and his oldest son took up treasure hunting in Spain with metal detectors, which was legal at that time, but no longer is. Mark’s love for Spain and its citizens led to various in-depth studies:

• archeology and ancient history of Spain

• popular traditional fiestas

• the Medieval Book of Good Love

• the obscene (to us) sexual carvings on Romanesque churches of Spain

In the 1980’s Mark began making notes for a possible future novel, based on a friend’s frequent comment after many incredible experiences treasure hunting – “es de novela” – this belongs in a novel. The first novel of a trilogy about an American living in Spain in the 1980’s is due to be released the summer of 2022. The real breakthrough to actually produce a finished novel came in 2020 when he accepted 100% responsibility for his success, and learned to conquer the negative emotions he had incorporated from naysayers and discouragers.

Mark’s life purpose goes beyond writing and publishing entertaining novels. He wants to help other authors get the book that lives inside of them down on paper and out into the world. He also wants to help others overcome the mental blocks that prevent growth and success. In 2020 he also developed a keen interest in helping men recover, and overcome guilt and shame, from childhood sex abuse, as well as helping those with mental health challenges.

The title for his trilogy, and each of the three novels, comes from a saying of Mutamid, an 11th century Moorish king in Sevilla:

The three sounds of happiness are: the sound of money, the sound of water, and the sound of the voice of your lover.
