Mark Fitzpatrick is the collaborating author with Miles Schnaer on Take The Crown, and has served as editor for two books-- A Passion for Purpose, the autobiography of former Kansas City mayor Sly James, and Mutt's Dream, a historical novel based on the boyhood of Mickey Mantle. He began his career in the sports information departments of Stanford University and the University of Missouri, where he won several national awards for his media guides. He has also been a contributor to Strong of Heart, a periodical published by the Notre Dame Athletics Department, and in 2015 he wrote a daily journal chronicling the Kansas City Royals World Series championship for Ingram's Magazine. A sports public address announcer on every level from junior high to the professional ranks, he has been the voice of the Big 12 and Big Eight Basketball Tournaments since 1982, and has done the PA for two Big 12 Championship football games at Arrowhead Stadium.
