Ryan Verniere

Ryan Verniere came of age during the era of Stranger Things, the 1980s, during which his parents fostered his love for art and an insatiable appetite for fantasy. An Italian-American writer and game designer based in Los Angeles, Verniere's many years of professional work as a narrative designer and world-builder have fueled his constant desire to elevate storytelling in dark medieval fantasy while exploring his appetite for deliciously violent spectacle juxtaposed against grounded character portraiture. Influenced by his second-generation multicultural roots and classical education, the story of BLACKBIRDS originated as an ode to myths and fairytales his mother and father love, recontextualized to underscore contemporary themes. His credits include the Adult Swim animated series Tigtone, a gory spoof of the medieval fantasy genre, the global phenomenon League of Legends, and the MoMA (NYC) inducted sci-fi game EVE Online.
