Alana Tyson

A certified #BoyMom, who loves karaoke, skiing, and beaching. When she's not enjoying the warmth and beauty of Mexico's Riviera Maya, she's penning tales about unsung heroes for kids to discover and enjoy.

A native New Yorker, Alana grew up in Queens and received her Bachelor of Science from Brooklyn College and Master of Arts in Journalism from University of Maryland.

Currently residing in Alexandria, VA (a suburb just outside of Washington, DC) with her husband and two sons, Alana considers DC her adopted home. In addition to Mexico, she loves learning about other cultures through travel. Her most interesting destination to date was Madagascar.
