Renowned rapper Marcus A. Smith (M6) has transitioned into a celebrated children’s book author, showcasing his remarkable literary prowess. At the tender age of ten, he embarked on a journey of poetic expression, which later evolved into captivating lyrics and music production. By the age of fourteen, he had already released his debut album, a testament to his talent that resonated with his family, friends, and the global community.
Marcus and his older brother, Nick, were raised by a single mother grappling with drug addiction. Poverty became a persistent companion, leading to frequent relocations between shelters. Amidst these challenges, Marcus channeled his emotions into writing, utilizing pencils, paper, and the desire to express himself as a means of escape and a catalyst for positive transformation.
Fifteen years later, Marcus’s life has undergone a profound transformation. He has embraced Christianity and dedicated his life to crafting Christian children’s books, spreading the gospel through various means with the ultimate goal of saving lives. Recently married, he cherishes his time with his wife who also helps run the Shepherds brand that involves music, podcast, clothing, ministry and of course books. Marcus has an 18 year old son Malachi , and his daughter, London, who bears a striking resemblance to her father and possesses his passion for music.
