R. C. Gibson

The nom de plume Ancient Atheist fits me perfectly; for I am ancient (85 as of this writing) and have become more strident in my anti-religious views with age. I am a retired exploration geologist (we geologists are an irreverent lot) who traveled the world in search of mineral resources for corporations when young, went into teaching at the college level to escape the perils of the corporate world, retired, and now write to express views that badly need expressing. After a long, active, and very observant life, I have become convinced of the evils of religion, nationalism, militarism and capitalism. In the process, I have become convinced the best way for a human being to live their life is as an atheist, a pacifist, a globalist, and a socialist. And I write, with heavy use of quotes from humanity's best minds, expressing these views with no mincing of words; for the Grim Reaper is gaining on me. My baseball skills carried me through college, my field geologist skills provided me with a wonderful life as a mature man and now, as an old man, my ability to write well and my passion to write things that need writing bring me great pleasure and keep the fifty-year-old man inside this ancient body going.
