Michael McCarthy's adventures around the planet read like Indiana Jones. He has trekked over the Himalayas to find and rescue abandoned children living in the world's highest inhabited villages; endured his ferry boat sinking in the alligator infested waters of the Tonle Sap in Cambodia; wandered the jaguar inhabited cloud forests of Ecuador; tracked grizzly bears in Alaska and the Great Bear Rainforest of British Columbia; cage dived with great white sharks off the coast of California; explored the haunts of the headhunters in the Marquesa Islands of the South Seas; interviewed marine iguanas about Social Darwinism in the Galapagos; snuck into San Quentin Prison disguised as a film crew member; swum with sea turtles in the Caribbean; gotten lost snorkeling in the Great Barrier reef of Australia, and many more. When not traveling the planet he lives with his wife in British Columbia where he plays competitive hockey and explores with his mountain bike.
