Joan Peace

The Israel for the Christian Traveler books and maps have been birthed from a passion for the country of Israel, the people of Israel, and the biblical, historical, and eternal significance of Israel.

My professional training was in education, with a teaching credential and master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction. I worked over twenty years in education—homeschooling, teaching most grades, writing curriculum and founding and directing several charter schools, including Escondido’s TCA “The Classical Academy,” which now has seven campuses in several cities across North San Diego County and over 4,500 TK-12 students.

March of 2012 was the beginning of an amazing journey – my first trip to Israel since I was a child in 1966 (just several months prior to the 1967 war in which the Jews took back their cherished Old City of Jerusalem). What a difference from the Israel today! So much Bible prophecy was fulfilled in 45 years – Israel was literally transformed from desolation to abundance! I fell in love with the Israeli people, the land, and the Lord even more and have returned many times since. Bottom line, Israel runs fervently through my blood! These trips have been nothing short of transformational for me. The saying is true: VISIT ISRAEL; YOU’LL NEVER BE THE SAME!

From 2012 – 2020, I visited Israel and brought groups to Israel countless times. These trips were the inspiration to write the Inspiration Israel resources. I developed a passion to help tourists understand and explore this amazing country.

I also founded and was the CEO of a non-profit for Israel – focusing on educating believers regarding the unique importance of Israel and working with Holocaust Survivors. I was honored to be part of a ten-day life-changing leadership institute at Yad Vashem Holocaust Museum in Jerusalem. These experiences have been the highlight of my life. Israel is my second home.

My bio would not be complete without mention of the greatest blessings of my life, and the source of tremendous joy. I am incredibly fortunate and grateful to reside near my three wonderful children, their amazing spouses, and nine super-wonderful grandchildren. God is really, really good!
