Mike Beetlestone

A native of Leeds, I graduated from Lancaster University with a degree in Operational Research, Mathematics and Economics before joining IBM in London. On meeting my future wife, Maria we decided to return to her home town of Dublin where I took up a career in Outdoor Advertising. After 40 years working in sales and development for four different companies including fourteen years developing my own business, I retired in 2015 to Gorey in County Wexford.

We have three children Mark, Eva and Gavin and four grandchildren Luke, Hannah, Megan and Rebecca.

I follow all sports and have only recently given up playing cricket for Arthurs Knights who have in recent years toured Holland, Spain, Portugal, India, Malta and Croatia. Still actively golfing and supporting Leeds United.

I have done several sponsored walks for Temple Street Children’s University Hospital which helped me get much of the background for the book along with making many good friends.
