Tamara Madison is the author of the chapbook “The Belly Remembers”, and two full-length volumes of poetry, “Wild Domestic” and “Moraine”, all published by Pearl Editions. Her most recent collection, the chapbook "Along the Fault Line", was published in May 2022 by Picture Show Press. Her work has appeared in Chiron Review, the Worcester Review, A Year of Being Here, Nerve Cowboy, the Writer’s Almanac and many other publications. Her next full-length collection is due out in 2023 by Sheila-Na-Gig.
Tamara is a native of the California desert who has lived in many places in the United States and abroad. A swimmer, dog lover and student of classical guitar, she has recently retired from teaching English and French in a Los Angeles high school. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Linguistics from Georgetown University and speaks English, French and Russian. A mother of two wonderful adult children, he is now a happy grandmother of two fantastic young humans. Her dog, Woody, is a German Shepherd/Border Collie mix who is mostly good.
