Randy Ervin

I was born and raised in Mattoon, Illinois. After graduating from high school in 1980 I enlisted in the United States Army as a military policeman. Following my discharge, I attended Lake Land College and Eastern Illinois University, graduating with a master's degree in education. I served as a deputy sheriff for eleven years and chief of police at a campus police department for twenty more and retired in 2017. My wife, Kim, and I have two adult daughters. I enjoy running, playing golf, reading, and researching local history.
