Nate Wrey

Nate Wrey is old and hairy like Uncle Pel but not as smelly. Unlike Mooge, he paid attention at school and learned to read and write. Mooge: The Prehistoric Genius is his first children’s book. He learned all about history at school and university, but is still teaching himself about the prehistoric period.

When he was young, Nate liked books by Roald Dahl, which are fun and exciting, with great characters who get in and out of trouble, teaching valuable lessons as a result. He also enjoyed reading cartoons such as Asterix the Gaul, starting his interest in history.

In writing Mooge, Nate liaised with a wide range of people to ensure the story, characters and rhymes were spot on. This included a children’s book editor, teachers and, most importantly, the experts, children.

Nate has a day job as a Civil Servant, working for the government, but has also written a novel for adults (as Nathaniel M Wrey) called Liberty Bound, which won a Readers’ Favorite International Book Award in 2021. He lives in Kent, where he admires the ceramic ducks on his walls while chewing a bone.
