Lorenz Eber

Lorenz Eber's first book 'Breathtaking' (Falcon 2022), co-authored with his wife Paula Holmes-Eber, chronicles their one and a half year adventure circling the globe on two tandem bicycles with their two teenage daughters Anya (13) and Yvonne (11). The family bicycled nearly 10,000 miles in an unbroken line through 25 countries around the entire earth; a feat that has not been accomplished by any other family to date. 'Breathtaking' shares their adventures, which were everything from hilarious to harrowing, yet always entertaining for the reader.

Lorenz is also an award winning photographer. His photos have appeared in Time Magazine, the cover of Adventure Cyclist magazine as well as in his book ''Breathtaking'. He is currently working on his second book, a science fiction novel, based on a short story that he published in the anthology 'Obliquity' in 2006.

Lorenz is an Aeronautical and Civil engineer and likes to design and tinker with any cutting edge technology he can get his hands on. He has helped design Boeing airplanes, Amazon package delivery drones and Navy unmanned submarines. Lorenz is an avid pilot who has built a full-sized plane in his garage and has flown planes and UAVs (large drones) all over the world. He also enjoys sailing and has sailed his sailboat 'Enchantress’ from Virginia to the Bahamas with his family and his sea dog, Simba.
