I grew up reading. I used to hide with a flashlight under the sheets after bedtime. Of course, my parents figured that out pretty quickly and my flashlight was confiscated. Even when I was in elementary school, I tried my hand at writing stories. As I aged, unfortunately, things like college, law school, marriage, and work crowded out any time I might have used to write. I became a partner in an all-woman law firm, and then changed careers and ran a financial planning practice for twenty-five years. I thought about writing, but I didn't do much of it in actuality. Now that I am retired, things have changed. I have written two books in the Summer Hill Irregulars mystery series, with book three due out very soon.
When I'm not writing, I love to quilt, cross stitch, line dance, cook, and travel. My husband and I split our time between North Carolina and Florida. We share our home with a brindle boxer, whom we rescued eight years ago. We have rescued five boxers over the past twenty-something years and are getting ready to welcome another lost pup into our lives. I hope you will see the love we have for dogs reflected in the character of Maggie, the boxer in the Summer Hill series.
