Miriam Elliott

Miriam Isabel Elliott, was born in Cuba and has resided in the United States since her teen years. Her book Solita and the Purple Moon, is a children’s book, simply illustrated by her husband Carlos. Miriam’s lovely story is told in verse in English and Spanish, and has received recognition in the United States and other countries.

Solita and the Purple Moon, is a recipient of 2022 International Impact Book Award, London Book Festival Award, Firebird Book Award, Outstanding Creator Award, Literary Titan Book Award, 2022 Los Angeles Book Festival Award, Story Monster approved seal and is presently nominated for other prestigious awards. Miriam dedicated her book to all children enduring separation from parents due to war, political turmoil, illness, divorce, and specially to the children of the military, who often see their parents deployed and do not know when or if they are coming back.
